Creativity at its highest level is using ingenuity, and inspiration to solve problems, create solutions and make visible, audible and tangible, things to benefit and touch others.
Each person has a duty to imagine what could be. Not just to subscribe to a version of reality that is fed to them through glowing screens. They also have a duty to cultivate use of words, sounds, pictures, movement, etc. to convey their inner vision. Without Craft the artist is busy simply babbling, filling time and space to get attention. The artists and visionaries, poets and playrights, dancers and musicians are as important to the health of the nation as anyone celebrated or elect, because they are like the canaries in the community coal mine.
Little is as potent as a well communicated concept or idea. Especially one made to bring a little amusement or joy or pride to the struggle against mind numbing monotony or the fear that comes from a dark view of the future for those without the perspective to hope for the dawn.
Talent is useless without vision.
